ABOUT US
An Organic Agricultural Business
Agritur is an agricultural cooperative business, manufacturing fruit-based products, mainly from berries.
The idea of such a business was finally put into action in 1989 by a group of young people, driven by a strong attachment to their surrounding unspoilt countryside and all the natural resources it had to offer, as well as being motivated by the desire to work locally and for themselves.
The business continues to grow steadily thanks to our customers′ demand for healthy organic products from an increasingly environmentally conscious manufacturer. Plastic packaging has been all but eliminated and photovoltaic panels for the production of clean electricity have also been installed.
Agritur products are available online and in specialized shops throughout Italy. Check out the website to find your nearest store.
Our story
1989 - Founding of the Cooperative
1992 - Expansion of the premises. Agritur moves its production facility from Via Serra 56 (where the registered office is still located today) to Via Del Sole 6, still at Lizzano in Belvedere, a locality south west of Bologna.
1996 - Agritur becomes officially ′organic′ with the necessary certification.
1998 - First prize winner at the SANA trade fair at Bologna for the best stand set-up and presentation.
2001 - Agritur features on RAI 3, the Italian national TV channel, in the program ′Article 1′, dedicated to the world of work and young entrepreneurs. Agritur is portrayed as an ′impressive example′ of an agricultural company, well-established throughout the country, making the most of the resources the land has to offer.
2002 - Expansion of the business. Given the continuous and constant increase in production, Agritur moves into a new production facility nearby at Località Ponte Del Podestà 32.
2007 - Increased bottling automation significantly increases production speed and capacity, together with an improvement in product quality.
2015 - Website redesign. The company′s website undergoes a complete makeover, a YouTube channel is created and Agritur becomes present on various social networks.
2016 - Best Blueberry Jam winner. In a competition held on 16 June 2016 at the Modena Chamber of Commerce, Agritur won First Prize for quality for their TOP ORGANIC BLUEBERRY fruit compote. No fewer than 23 jam-producers competed in the competition. The presence of Anthocyanins was found in the berries, the result of a scientific analysis for their potential pharmaceutical benefits, which was carried out by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
2019 - Cultivation of raspberries and blackberries. Agritur starts growing raspberries and blackberries on land adjacent to the factory, allowing for a small-scale 100% organic production.
2020 - Renewal of packaging and elimination of plastic. Printing of labels and boxes on FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper. Definitive elimination of plastic packaging due to the acquisition of a cardboard shredder which turns used cardboard into useful, protective and flexible packing material - an important improvement especially when sending out online orders. A short video explaining this can be seen on our YouTube channel: COOP AGRITUR.
2021 - Installation of a photovoltaic system. For an increasingly eco-sustainable future, Agritur decides to install a solar power system on the factory roof with a production capacity of 25 kW, significantly reducing energy costs by up to 75%.
2022 - Factory expansion and restyling of the website. Given the continuous increase in production, Agritur decides to further expand production and warehousing capacity. The website undergoes an update.
Production
Organics, straight from the land to the production facility
Agritur is located in the Corno alle Scale Regional Park in the heart of the Apennine mountain range. One of the major resources the park has to offer is the European blueberry (Vaccinium Myrtillus), which grows wild in grassy mountain areas between 1000 and 1800 metres above sea level, and is one of the best qualities of blueberries found anywhere. In fact, most of the cooperative′s organic production derives from this small precious fruit, also known as ′Black Gold′ due to the alleged therapeutic properties it contains.
But Agritur is not just synonymous with blueberries. All the Cooperative′s fruit is strictly organic and is supplied directly by the members of the cooperative, proving an excellent guarantee of quality for the final products, whilst allowing for complete control of the short production chain.
To date, Agritur has no fewer than 26 contributing partners throughout Italy.

Our range of jams
Organic and with added cane sugar
As a cooperative, we pride ourselves on our range of jams, available in various sizes, flavours and varieties. Quality is guaranteed, due to the origin of the organic fruit and the manufacturing process involved. To produce the fruit concentrate, a special hermetically-sealed cylindrical machine known as a Concentration Boule is used, which allows excess water to be extracted from the fruit, concentrating it at a relatively low temperature of between 45 and 50°C. The Boule works by creating a vacuum, unlike in the traditional method where the temperature reaches around 100°C. By concentrating the fruit at a lower temperature in a vacuum, it preserves its original colour, flavour and nutritional qualities because no oxygen is allowed to come into contact with the contents.
Our commitment to creating a unique product is also carried through to the glass jars and the packaging, proudly designed by ourselves.
